Easy

Goodreads Summary:
When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup two months into sophomore year. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, and failing a class for the first time in her life.

Leaving a party alone, Jacqueline is assaulted by her ex's frat brother. Rescued by a stranger who seems to be in the right place at the right time, she wants nothing more than to forget the attack and that night - but her savior, Lucas, sits on the back row of her econ class, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. Her friends nominate him to be the perfect rebound.

When her attacker turns stalker, Jacqueline has a choice: crumple in defeat or learn to fight back. Lucas remains protective, but he's hiding secrets of his own. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.

Author: Tammara Webber
Released: May 25th 2012

Review:

Wow to the millionth power. This book dug deep, crushing my insides and ripping out pure emotion. The story held such beautiful design and the plot kept me going on, where I knew what was going to happen, but she had me convinced as the pages kept turning that it wouldn't only to rock me with more shockers. Seriously, get ready to cry, love, laugh, and grow stronger than you already are. This book helps you build, grow and gain acceptance of yourself, even if you didn't know you needed to gain any.

Jacqueline becomes a strong independent and self-assured woman right in front of your very eyes, with strong character development. She is a very relatable character, and her decisions keep you on the edge of your toes.

Not to mention Lucas, the basis of which all men should be. He is the bad boy, with the smart boy flare, and feel free to throw in the damaged soul package too. I was amazed at his story and part in this novel. I couldn't help but prey that he would get his happy ending, lord knows he deserves it. I am ever more excited to find out that Webber will be writing a novella in Lucas's point of view, that will take place before the setting of Easy and have some overlap, but will not go beyond the story.

One thing you will want from this book is more. Once the story is over, and all the pages are turned, it wont be enough. This is a stand-alone book for Webber, but the characters are so great you cannot help but want more from them. I am not the biggest fan of novels that become series with the supporting cast as the main characters in the next book and so on, but it would be so worth it for this book, if I got to see more of Jacqueline and Lucas.

As a fan of Webber, I have to say, Easy by far outshines her Between the Lines series. There is no comparison. She touched deep emotions with this story and I give her a lot of credit for writing about such a serious subject and executing it so well.

With that said, this book is not for the tenderhearted. It could really upset you if you are sensitive to a story about assault and the terror that comes with it. If you are brave enough to weather this storm, you will not be disappointed. As I said earlier you become a better person and more aware just by reading.
